Final assignment - Batik Printing

It is a group project , 4 persons in a group ( Yoong Ruey , Darlene and Coey ) Our theme is Paper Cutting . The first one is painted by Coey , 2nd is Yoong Ruey , 3rd one is Darlene and the last one is mine . It is really hard to use the wax to draw on the cloth but once you used to it is fine . A nice try and a good experience . I appreciate it so much , and i wish to there again .

What a great day - Project 6 ( Painting to Music)

2 genre of music 

CLASSICAL vs POP

It was really awesome and a nice experience . I really get into the songs and paint it out . I used only hands without any brushes , because with ur hand and finger can present the wave more clearly and different from what it showed with brush . Bottom one ,the classical music has a soft , cool rhythm and also emotional . So i used blue , yellow and red . Blue represented the calm and ocean that cool feelings . Red represented the hot  , emotional and also some of impatient feeling . Yellow represented the mother of earth , is like the sun giving life to the earth , giving bright . Top one , pop music i used yellow , red , green , grey and blue . There included some rock music too , so i used blue , yellow , orange and red to paint some chains to showed the rock of the music . And there is a FACE middle of the canvas and is spreading out and shining .

Project 4 - Monogram

HERE YOU GO , OUR POSTER !

 надежда : HOPE .. this is our poster ! Finally we have a group work , we formed 
into a group of 4 .. That's me , veronica , darlene and katerina .At the beginning , we comes out a lot
of ideas and can't really decided it ! But at the end we finally decided the poster be like this . The story is
actually about a ballerina . She work very hard , and she is poor , she practise everyday even the shoes
spoiled , she never stop and continue her dreams . But the fact is , every ballerinas want to get famous
but it is hard although they worked so hard . That's the reason we put our reason as Hope and is not 
Dream .. Basically to become a famous ballerina is their dreams , but is really hard to achieve . So 
we decided the title as Hope and not Dream . Basically that is a reflection of the ballerina , the black
and white is she haven't get famous . The other ballerina is reflect of her , being good dancing on the
stage with a nice dress and full of confidence . That's represented finally she hope that one day she 
can be dancing under the spotlight . The background we painted like forests , is just like dancing
freedomly without any stress . Besides that , the reflection of colorful title is actually to showed that Hope
We did some researches about what color represented Hope , and finally we found out is Green,
Yellow , blue .. Yellow is like the sun giving life to the earth , light up the ground , blue is like the sky brings
harmony and the green is like the ground . Not only that , actually the title is a russian word . I found out
something interesting in this group , because i can learnt Russian ! :)

Research about poster

What is the important we need to have in posters , and i did some research about different kind of poster .

A very creative and classic design of poster .

There are 3 diffrent styles of ballet movie poster . Colors defined a meaning to the poster and also important that what color you insert to the poster , and the position of the object . 

A very strong message towards us , a red color title and the font of the word . A very creative movie poster , using the space of the sunglasses and add on something .

Expanding squares ..

Black and yellow , this is my expanding squares . It might look simple and easy , but it took my few hours to finished it and it has a meaning . The reason i used yellow it is because yellow is bright like a sun . Is just like the sun shinning on the land and bright the earth ... The first square is showed that the light shines on something .. the wave getting smaller and sharp . The second square is just like the ground , the sun is going to shines on it . The square expanded bigger , expanded to two to showed that the square is expanding and is just like the lights shines on everywhere . The third square is reducing , is just like comes to the evening , the sun is going down .. and the lights is getting no more and no more . The last square , the sun gone .. Comes to night , and the stars rising to the sky and hanging on the sky .. So i did it with a tiny squares like hanging and did it seperately , is just like stars blinking in the sky . I used that square and cut it into pieces .

Self-Potrait

i'm Joanne Yen Chang Xin , this is who am i ... I eat , i study , i work hard , i sleep hard .. I'm just a normal human being , i will get mad , i will cry , i will be emotional . I'm good sometimes , but when i'm mad ... No one know about me !! This self-portrait represented me . This is how i look like , when i get mad ... 

I make it rough with black paper to be the background , because it is represented the complicated behind me and the sadness of me .. and i purposely used black colour , cause that showed that my sadness . And i found out an interesting art movement (cubism) of mine . So i used this art movement to add in my self-portrait. I cut the black paper to the pieces and paste it .. i used different colour as my outline it is because to showed that something protected and protective to myself ... And also showed that a not smiling lips .. with no smiling .. this showed that my sadness and my madness .. And also a pair of eyes that showed that she need helps and calm down ... The pink colour at the side , represented something hidden behind of her ...
